kaleidoscope of loud heartbeats under coats

A little recap of my last few days of 2014:

Spent Christmas Eve looking at Christmas lights. I truly admire the amount of effort people put into these because my family can barely be bothered putting up the Christmas tree.

I just had to take a picture with surfing santa.

The sky was really pretty the other day. #nofilter

From our backyard - sunset on the left, rainbow on the right.

Green Tea Frappucino.

Watched Big Hero 6 the other day - it was a great movie. AND BAYMAX IS SO CUTE I WANT ONE. The fist bump scenes still make me laugh.

Boxing Day shopping - I didn't buy much at all and I'm not sure if it was even worth the trip cause it took us over half an hour and three times in and out the parking lot to find a park. I did get a cleanser for 50% off at Lush though which I'm really happy about.

I've been buying quite a few of these dresses/playsuits lately but I barely ever wear them because I never feel like it's the right time hahaha. I guess one of my new year resolutions would be to wear more of the stuff I buy. I can't believe we're ringing in the new year as I'm typing this. I feel like 2014 went by so quick and that nothing too exciting happened but hopefully I can make 2015 count.

A weekend down at the coast

View from our hotel room.

The place we stayed at was located at the border between Queensland & NSW which is pretty cool! Hence the name "Twin Towns".

We checked in pretty late in the afternoon, and then headed to the beach which was across the road (well, maybe two roads) from our hotel.

I can't get over how pretty the water looks.

Fisheye lens comin in handy.

Sun setting... ish.

After a stroll on the beach, we went to Hog's Breath Cafe for dinner.

Boss Hog Ribs with a side of Caesar salad. The fries are sooo good.

Group selfie feat. ribs.

They had some interesting decor.

Day Two

The day started off with a buffet breakfast at the hotel. We got an hour extension on our check-out time which we spent playing a few rounds of UNO.

Burleigh Heads.

#ootd feat. this black floppy hat which I've been wearing way too often.

After Burleigh heads, we headed to Galaxy seafood & mediterranean restaurant at Southport for lunch.

They had this really cool mural thing with Greece in the background (which I didn't manage to get a full picture of, oops).

These two seafood platters are meant to be shared between four people but we could barely finish it between seven...

the lights are so bright but they never blind me

I've finally stepped out of the house in like, a while hahaha, and of course the weather would be ridiculously hot the day I decide to go out. Anyway, Amanda, Sunny, Mindy and I went for brunch today at Shouk Cafe in Paddington (well, yesterday since it's 1am as I'm blogging). I've been wanting to visit this cafe for a while now after reading great reviews about it and seeing amazing pictures of it on instagram etc.

 Inside Shouk Cafe.

I got the Latke stack which was delicious- polish potato pancakes, poached eggs with smoked salmon.
The presentation of all their food is amazing and tastes just as good as it looks.

After brunch, we went to Indooroopilly shopping centre cause we didn't know what else to do. Stepping into the aircon felt like heaven.

And of course, a trip to Indro isn't complete without visiting French Twist.
Interior of French Twist (The chairs were really comfy).

Didn't buy anything except for some nail polish from W Cosmetics. I don't know why I keep buying nail polish when I honestly hardly ever wear them and they just end up drying up.
